Small Update #1: The State of the Game

Hello everyone!

Welcome to MC Ninja's first update post!

First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a happy and safe holidays as we head into the Christmas season.

Second, I will try to stick to a bi-weekly update schedule (an update every other Friday).

This way, I can stay in touch with everybody on the state of the game.

\\ Development so far

Currently, I'm building every part of the game with test blocks to see what I think will work, and what won't.
I won't officially begin applying the tilemap until I am finished all of the test maps, OR I decide a short demo
is necessary to get my game out there (a demo isn't out of the question by the way :D)

I've applied tilemap to a few sections from some biomes to give you an idea of the aesthetics.
The pictures below present the earliest version of the Forest and Ruins biome:

\\ Describing the pictures

As you can see, there is only basic geometry.
I have the ground, grass, trees and sky all on different layers to speed up development time.
Generally, I'm able to apply graphics to a section of a biome in a few hours. A biome consists of about 6-8
sections. The player will move from section to section to navigate the biome, and the game opens up the more
you play.

\\ The status of the game in numbers

So to break everything down to a percentage, this is the status of the game at this time:

Story (Dialogue for characters, context on the world): ~2%
World Building (test blocks, graphics): ~5%
Characters/Enemy Building (the player, enemies, bosses): ~5%
Coding (test cases, production code): ~2%
Overall (when the game is finished, this will be 100%): ~2%

You might be wondering what I'm prioritizing after seeing these numbers.

I've just finished putting together the player character. This includes the model's animations, collision detection, etc.
I will continue to build the world into the New Year and hopefully show a few more surprises in the next update!
