Small Update #4: More Enemy AI Work + Demo Soon!


Hello everyone! Welcome to Update 4 where I post bi-weekly updates on MC Ninja.

To start things off, I'd like to announce that a demo is currently being planned and will release sometime in the Spring of 2021.

I'm still in the development phase of planning out which enemies I'd like to include in the game.

To keep things interesting, I'd like to show you this:


The Bestiary of MC Ninja

This image showcases all the enemies that have been revealed in previous updates, and the ones which are yet to be shown.

Over the next couple of updates, I'd like to slowly unveil each enemy and talk a bit about them!

I'd also like to mention that a Steam page for the game is in the works as well, so please stay tuned for that.

So to break everything down to a percentage, this is the status of the game at this time:

Story (Dialogue for characters, context on the world): ~2%
World Building (test blocks, graphics): ~10%
Characters/Enemy Building (the player, enemies, bosses): ~26% (+6%*)
Coding (test cases, production code): ~25%  (+11%*)
Overall (when the game is finished, this will be 100%): ~13% (+5%*)

* = from last update

These are rough estimates but I'm hoping they visualize the progress.

As you can probably tell, the demo won't consist of much of the story, but rather the core combat system.
I'd like to give the player a feel for the game before presenting anything concrete about the world.
