Small Update #5: Demo Coming Soon (... again!)


Hello everyone! Welcome to Update 5 where I post bi-weekly updates on MC Ninja.

There's not much to talk about this update as I was having a massive setback on the programming side of the project.

Good news is I've been approved to start putting together a Steam page for the game! Expect more news on that later.
I mentioned it last update but I'll mention it again: the demo is planned for the Spring. Exact date to be determined!
I would like to reveal the next enemy in the series I mentioned during the last update, though:


Minotaur: Slow, heavy, hits hard. He's always angry for some reason.
Beetle: The spiked shell means bad news, and these buggers move fast.
Rat: Pack animals. They'll probably be annoying to deal with ~_~
Slime: It's... a slime. It slithers around. Don't touch it though, it's poisonous!

Ghost: It likes to play hide and seek...! It's rather shy.

So to break everything down to a percentage, this is the status of the game at this time:

Story (Dialogue for characters, context on the world): ~2%
World Building (test blocks, graphics): ~12% (+2*)
Characters/Enemy Building (the player, enemies, bosses): ~34% (+8%*)
Coding (test cases, production code): ~30%  (+5%*)
Overall (when the game is finished, this will be 100%): ~15% (+2%*)

These are rough estimates but I'm hoping they visualize the progress.

Once again I'd like to reiterate that the demo is coming this Spring and the Steam page will be up fairly soon... hopefully
